Welcome to a new month.Today is February 1st, which means it is time to go over my five favorite TBR new releases of Cozy Mysteries for the month of February. So if you are new here, I'm Lisa and this is the Cozy Mystery Mingle video podcast where all we talk about are cozy mysteries.

0:23

So I'm going to pick my top five out of I think there were like 25 new releases that I could find as of today for this month.I'm going to go over my top five and I'm excited to confirm that I have 10 authors confirmed for this month to talk about their books, their new releases, what's coming out, learn more about them behind the scenes.

0:44

So very excited.Make sure to hit the subscribe button so you don't miss anything, or make sure to follow on whatever if you're listening to this on Spotify or Apple or iHeartRadio. And also if you are wanting to know what are all those 25 new releases, they are on my website lisaseifert.com under the new releases section and I have all of the books and links to them on Amazon.

1:10

So let's get started. The first book is which is where chickens go to roost. And this is book #48 in the Witch Pi Mysteries by Adele Abbott. And yes, I have read a bunch of them.I'm actually not caught up, but I'm excited that I could binge read all of them to get up to this one, which I think you have to read all of them prior to actually get anything out of this one.

1:29

Because in this one, Jill finally has all four of the compass stones so she can face her arch nemesis Braxmore. And yes, this is kind of like the stones from the Infinity Stones from The Avengers, because the stones do make her more powerful. Now this series is about a private investigator who's a witch named Jill, and she inherits the agency from her father, and her real mother is a witch who she doesn't really have a relationship with, and the cat only has one eye.

1:59

She calls him Winky, but not in a nice way. She's actually kind of mean to the cat, but I think it's for humor. But I would definitely go back, read the first book if you like it, then continue with the series. And there are 48 of them in here. The next book is The Lanterns Dance by Lori R King. Now this is book 18 in the Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes series, and I'm not really into historical mysteries.

2:21

However, I do like a good spin on Sherlock Holmes and in this book, Book 18, you get really into his extended family or how Lori King interprets his extended family. So Mary and Sherlock are going to visit his son Damian Adler, who is a famous artist.

2:38

But when they get to the house they find out his whole family has fled and there are 4 mysterious crates from Sherlock's grand uncle Horace Fernette. And there is a Zoe trope.I know what is the Zoe trope?I had to Google it and look it up.But it's one of those things that spins and has like images in it.

2:54

So it kind of like like a precursor to movies. And so these are the clues that they are hunting down to figure out out what happened to Sherlock's home and who they're running away from. The next book is from one of my favorite authors, Amanda Flower, who's Amish cozy mysteries.I cannot stop reading all the time, even reread them in between books, because it does obviously take her a while to come out with the new one, but I just love this author.

3:17

Anyways, this is book #4 from her farm to table mystery series. It is crime and Cherry Pit.So in this one, Shiloh who has a farm to table restaurant. And again, I know when I see the name every time I'm like like, oh, is she a big Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fan?

3:33

Is that why we have the main character named Shiloh? But anyways, Shiloh is entered into the cherry spitting contest. She's super excited about it.She can bring all her cherries there. The only problem is she ends up just hanging out and sees a bystander on the sidelines choke on a cherry pit and die.

3:50

Which just sounds like really bad luck for this dude. But it turns out he was actually murdered. So she being the only witness. And obviously this is book four, she keeps stumbling across dead bodies. She is is definitely under suspicion and her cousin Stacey just happens to be dating this guy that just died and he's married.

4:06

So her cousin Stacey was having an affair, which makes it look just all the much worse for her and her cousin. Now the fun part in this one is her sidekick is actually a pig named Huckleberry, which makes sense. It is a farm and it was just fun to see a book about cherries. The next book is A Killer Romance by Maggie Blackburn, and this is book #3 in The Beach Reads Mysteries.

4:26

Now we read book number one for the Cozy Escape Book Club.Everybody love this book. It's about a woman who inherits her mother's bookstore, which is right by the ocean and only has romance books, which she is not a fan of.But obviously she embraces it and learns to love it because now we have book 3.

4:43

So for this one it is a Valentine's Day themed book because there is a Valentine's Day event at the Beach Reads bookstore and she has Summer. The main character has invited a an author to come do a reading, and while the author is staying at the B&B, she ends up being murdered.

5:01

Now this author was actually under investigation herself for killing her husband, so obviously something weird is going on.Plus, somehow through this whole mix, Summer's friend gets implicated as the murderer, so obviously she needs to solve it.And the last book is actually two books because this author can write like I just imagined Tanya Kapis just sitting in her bed at night, sleep reading, and then she's driving.

5:27

But she's also dictating a book while she's driving, and she's in the shower and she's like dictating more books.Like she has so many books. She has two books coming out this month.First one is Moonlight Marshmallows and Manslaughter. Now this is book #35 in the camper and criminals.

5:42

Cozy Mystery did read book number one for the Cozy Escape Book Club.So in this book we are in Normal Kentucky, and she was with Laundry Club ladies and they're in the Daniel Boone National Forest for National Wildflower Week. Now the best thing about wildflowers is being told all about them from a local professional expert botanist.

6:02

However, this time the botanist turns up dead, so we got a land developer.Obviously some weird environmental politics going on and the botanist was in the center of all of it.So May is not going to let this vacation go without figuring out who killed the botanist.

6:18

Now the next book from Tanya is the Pour over Predicaments, and this is book 14 in Killer Coffee Mystery. And I really like this series because it kind of reminds me of The Heart of Dixie, which if you hadn't seen, is the best TV show ever.So we have Loretta, Who is the queen of the Southern Women's Club. She's obviously like the Junior League, just an exclusive sorority for popular adult women.

6:37

So she's been accused of something she did not do.So she calls on Roxy, who owns the Bean Hive coffee shop, and asked her to help her.So that's a wrap on my top five TBR books.I guess it's really six that I think you should check out for the month of February. And don't forget I have 10 more books that we are going to be covering with author interviews this month.

6:56

So make sure to sign up for my mailing list so you don't miss out.Subscribe to the YouTube channel, follow us on Spotify, listen on Apple or our or iHeartRadio.Remember, it's a short month, but it is a leap year, so February has an extra day in it, which to me just means an extra day for reading.

7:12

All right, now I hope everyone's having a fabulous start to their new month and I will see you very soon.In fact, I'll see you 10 times this month for live streams with authors who have new releases coming out this month. All right.Bye everyone.
